Welcome to the web-home of Rushden Chess Club (RCC) - now in our 40th year after forming in 1977.
We meet every Monday evening, including bank holidays (most) from approx. 18.00 - 22.30 (ish) at our comfortably cosy home host venue RUSHDEN TOWN BOWLING CLUB ~ 144 Northampton Road, Rushden, Northants, NN10 6AN.
You need not bring any equipment, just yourself, as the Club provides all of the necessaries. To find out where we are on a map please click this link ~ SHOW ME WHERE TO PLAY CHESS ... .. . and also see the 'Contact Us'
page for more refined information. For all enquiries please contact the club secretary Mr Derrick Sims on 01933 625767.
Access & facilities for the disabled, free parking, function room, restaurant, indoor & outdoor bowls and a wide variety of other entertainments are available at this licensed venue, please see the Bowls' Club Website for more information.
We are a long-standing, friendly and encouraging club which welcomes all-comers of all standards and currently provides
3 teams in the A & B divisions of the Northamptonshire Silver King league, as well as several annual club tournaments including split-section Senior tournaments with 3 different time controls, a Ladies Open, a Junior Open, and Senior/Junior Ladders, plus our now world famous year's end FREE CHOCCY GOODIES competition fondly known as the Krimbo Blitz.
~ Juniors welcome from 18:00 ~ for projector-led tactics training, competition games & general instruction ~
~ Seniors welcome from 19:00 ~ the usual roll-in time, but feel free to arrive earlier and help out with the Juniors ~
Our current annual membership fees are £10 for seniors, juniors free ('Junior' means 'under 18') but senior members
are initially required to join the Bowling Club as social members (including an attending but non-playing parent). This
is a one-off payment of £35 which purchases lifelong social membership of Rushden Bowling Club. Due to this necessary initial payment to our hosts the RCC annual club fee is waived for new senior members in their first year or part-year.
Find our monthly League reports and other local news in Rosetta Publishing's 'Rushden Reporter'
and fortnightly updates with 'Chess Corner' by Derrick Sims in our local Nene Valley News.
** ~ We (I) are (am) undertaking a site refreshment .. . erm .. . 'ordeal' - so please bear with us (me) while Muggins
the Web-Donkey here attempts to scavenge the time to get this .. . erm .. . 'mess?' in order for your eyes as soon as is humanly possible. Honest. Nearly there now .. won't be long .. . **
Thank you for your co-operation at this difficult time.
